MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT / CEO

Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center
ASKEDWELL CENTER

Dear Friends and Benefactors,

We hurdled the challenges of building up this institution in CY 2014. With God's blessings, we shall continue to work and pray for the success of its trainees, graduates and the community.

The Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp (ASKEDWELL Center) launched its training programs on May 1, 2014. It was a simple activity defining goals and mission of the Center. Present were officials of TESDA Former Provincial Director Buenafe Sta Rita, Mr. Charlie Taguiam, owner of the Farm and building where the Training Center is located, Mayor Bernard A. Sepulveda and Party, Barangay  Officials of Bongdo led by Capt. Abdias C. Retuerto, farmer leaders of Argao, Cebu and other members of the community.

Organizing the documents and building resources for the Center was an extremely difficult task.

I can vividly recall the advice of Dr. Vicenta B. Maranga, Chairman of the Board, “ … fervently ask God and it will be given.” My mother died on July 19, 2014, seeing the achievement of her dreams and prayers, that a school will be set-up for farmers and the less privileged. Both Dr. Vicenta Biore Maranga and Atty Manuel Galo Maranga, came from a poor family of Leyte and Cebu, and dreamed to rise from poverty through education.

I started writing the purposes and by-laws of the Corporation in January 2013 and acquired the SEC registration on June 6, 2013. Preparing the documents and seeking assistance from friends led me to Barangay Bongdo. Borbon, Cebue.

Dr. Vicenta B. Maranga, Chairman, Engr. Oscar S. Ma , PME., Dr. Silvano B. Maranga, President/ CEO, Mr. Vianney D. Garol, former priest and President of TRIM Consultants, Ms. Michelle Maranga-Cuerquis, Corporate Secretary, active officer of the Philippine Association of Secretaries, and a former Executive Assistant to the General Manager of Marco Polo Hotel, compose the founding Directors of the Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp.

Things were difficult in working with the documents and coordinating with the community, due to distance and transport, more so with the ravages brought about by Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013.

God answered our prayers. Mr. Charlie Taguiam provided the venue and other support services. The Barangay Officials welcomed and assisted the coordination to ensure completeness of documents of the ASKEDWELL Center for submission to TESDA, BIR and SEC. TESDA extended its support and provided scholarships to trainees.

There are persons who have done more than what is expected of them from the community. They have volunteered to act as Vocational Instruction Supervisors, namely, Mrs.Fredesvinda Y. Biore, retired DepEd Officer – Education Supervisor and  head of Municipal Senior Citizens, Mr. Emelio P. Biore, retired DepEd Principal active member of the KC, Mr. Oscar M. Elcana, Shop owner, farmer and lay minister, Mr. Pedro D. Coloscos, CEBECO II Board of Director and retired principal, Engr. Roseller Balaod, OFW, who volunteered to provide instructions to trainees, notwithstanding his physical sickness and difficulty of movement, shares his life’s trials to trainees whenever he can.

It is also important to mention the support of the Barangay Officials namely:
Abdias C. Retuerto          Barangay Captain
Norma S. Monsanto        Kagawad
Felilia C. Retuerto           Kagawad
Rofil C. Vanguardia         Kagawad
Eliezer M. Mondeniedo   Kagawad
Alexander l. Cole            Kagawad
Leonora R. Mondero      Kagawad
Ginalyn C. Custodio        Kagawad
Jesserin M.Sisa              Barangay Secretary

It is also important to note the support of Mayor Bernard A. Sepulveda of Borbon and Atty. Roland Bucog. My brothers Engr. Manuel B. Maranga, former Barangay Officials led by Mr. Severino MondeƱedo Jr and Engr. Macario B Maranga have contributed a lot in the formation of this institution.

This blogspot is intended to record the activities of the Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center for CY 2015 and linked with other related blogs for more information regarding the courses offered .

This is also a way of thanking God, my mother and father, children, friends and those who believe in the principle of helping the less privileged acquire knowledge , learn skills and be educated and understand that life is a continuous learning and achieve our goals as we are meant to be.

A special thanks to Mr. Charlie Taguiam and Dr. Francisco P. de la Pena, Jr, President/ CEO ACES Polytechnic College who believe and give their full support to build and let this institution perform its mission. We also thank the TESDA Regional Directors Director Rosanna Urdaneta, Dir. Edgar Sales, Dir.Lorenzo Macapili, Provincial Directors Engr. Mark Anthony Ylanan, OIC Director Sam Jordan, Administors Cirilo Macalam, Jr., Engr.Wenifredo Salas, Mrs. Dina Esmas, and many  TESDA personnel who have extended their technical assistance in ensuring that the newly organized institution be directed towards the quality journey of TVET.

God bless us all.

  1. ReVitalyz Wellness Center is the premier financing company in the healthcare industry. The healthcare financing industry has been flooded with high-interest credit cards that may help you pay for the treatment you need, but often end up causing more harm than good. We offer healthy, simple interest loans with no prepayment penalties, no retroactive interest, longer terms for lower monthly payments, and an inquiry process that will only take you minutes to complete. We truly “Make HealthCare Affordable.”
